NTT Data Plans to Invest US$3.6 Bln in Acquiring Brazilian Operators

NTT Data said that the company is currently in talks with several Brazilian operators over acquisitions, according to a January 26, 2011 report by the Bloomberg. It is estimated that NTT Data plans to spend approximately 300 billion yen (US$3.63 billion; US$1=82.7 yen) on acquisitions of Brazilian operators. It is projected that NTT Data aims to increase its overseas sales by four times over three years by means of acquisitions. Names of the operators were not disclosed, according to the same source, but NTT Data plans reach acquisition deals within a year.

NTT Data is the network service unit of NTT (Nippon Telegraph & Telephone). The company purchased Boston-based IT service firm Keane in December 2010.
